Park Lane Villa Lighting & DJ Entertainment

This was quite the memorable wedding on May 12th. Nothing is better than working with a client who really knows what they want. In addition, this couple chose some of the best wedding professionals in Cleveland to share their wedding ceremony and reception with. Justin Ketchem Photography captured this special day with some of the best photos we have ever seen of the reception venue, The Ballroom at Park Lane Villa. Justin’s Blog has a selection of photos from the day that will stop you in your tracks.

Because this was a Heidzillas planned event, every detail was perfect and just the way the couple wanted. No one in the family had to worry about the flow of the event or the unique elements because Heidi and Leigh made sure everything was smooth. One of the most beautiful details from this reception was the floral centerpieces by Heather Lily. It’s hard to have a better choice for a wedding than white roses!

Cleveland DJ Reception

Selective Sound Entertainment provided a custom lighting package that included blue uplights. This created a look that gave the venue a distinctive look that was unique to this wedding reception. In addition to the lighting, Selective Sound was the Emcee and DJ for this unique Cleveland wedding.

How Important Is Entertainment?

Posted on March 29, 2012 in Akron Wedding DJ,Cleveland Wedding DJ

Wedding Entertainment is VERY Important!

Entertainment for your wedding might be more important than you’d think as you plan your wedding. Learn from what other brides have said and understand that there is a big difference in the quality of event entertainment.

Surveys taken by several leading national wedding magazines show that:

  • 81% of  the guests say the thing they remember most about a wedding or party is the entertainment.
  • 63% of the guests attending these functions do not remember what was served for for dinner, but do remember.
  • 4% to 6% is the amount most brides reserve for their entertainment budget.
  • After their reception, 72% of all brides say they would have spent more time choosing their reception entertainment.

During  wedding planning, brides say their highest priority is their attire, followed by the reception site/caterer. Reception entertainment is often a lower priority.

Within one week after their reception, 78% of brides say they would have made the entertainment their HIGHEST priority!

5 Ways To Save Money On YOUR Wedding!

Tips From The Pros

There’s no denying that weddings are one of the larger investments people make in their lives. Couples only have one shot at their dream wedding. Because of this, it makes sense to use wedding professionals. The old adage “You get what you pay for” is never more true than with those you choose for services on your wedding day.

That said, there is a difference between a higher cost and VALUE. A vendor that offers services with lots of value translates to “more bang for your buck”. There are many parts of a wedding professionals cost that you might not see. Least of which is employing top tier talent. Be careful of a company that offers the absolute lowest prices by a large margin. This means that they are also paying their staff the least amount and the chances of a true professional working under these conditions is doubtful.

Reception Professional Tips Money

Keeping that all in mind, here are just 10 easy tips we’ve learned over the years that can help you save money on your wedding day:

1. Decide what is important to you. Different aspects of your wedding might be more important to you than others. Ranking what’s most important to you as a couple will let you know what tier talent you are looking for while searching for the right vendors.

2. Set a budget. Seriously! It may sound easy and you may THINK you have one but…write it down. Create categories and assign dollar amounts. This way, everyone involved will have something they can look at in black and white. This could potentially stop arguments before they get our of hand! It might make better sense to get a feel for what prices are for wedding professionals in each category first.

3. Give yourself enough time. If possible, give yourself as much time as possible between looking for wedding professionals and your wedding date. Being forced to act quickly will result a less educated decision making process.

4. Consider a Friday or Sunday Reception. This trick is widely know. What isn’t known by many is that people love to party on Friday! After working all week, people really like to blow off steam and usually eat, drink, and dance more because of it. Sundays also present a unique opportunity. Interested in a really elegant and different reception? Try a brunch! Caterers are able to offer you their most competitive prices for such menus and guests really enjoy this relaxed setting.

5. Off-Season Weddings. The best wedding professionals do not have as hard of a time booking events between May and October on the Eastern side of the United States. Because of this, many offer price breaks for weddings taking place between January, February, and March. You would receive the same professional services this way, but often at a lower rate.

These are just a few tips our event specialists have to help you for your unique wedding day. Selective Sound Entertainment has been helping couples in the Cleveland area and beyond since 1987 with DJ and MC packages as well as event lighting (such as uplights, gobo monograms, feature lighting, and lighting design). We now offer a variety of types of photo boooth and photo magic green screens for your upcoming wedding.
